Beniamino Tartufoli is a PhD candidate in the “Future Earth, Climate Change and Societal Challenges” program, jointly coordinated by the University of Bologna and CMCC. He works in collaboration with the Data Assimilation Research Unit of the Regional Ocean Forecasting Systems (ROFS) division. His research interests focus on applying machine learning methods to environmental sciences, with a particular emphasis on their integration with data assimilation. He is currently working on reconstructing oceanic data using neural networks and evaluating the impact of their assimilation into the forecasting system.
