The Czechia Peer Review Report 2026 has officially been published. Developed under the 2025–2027 Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM) Peer Review Programme, the report was financed by the European Union and supported by CMCC as the project Facilitator.

On 23 June 2026, in Prague, Mrs Hanna Jahns, Director Strategy and Policy of Directorate-General for European Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO), formally handed over the report to Gen. Daniel Miklós, Deputy Director of the General Directorate of the Fire and Rescue Service (DG FRS) of the Ministry of Interior of Czechia.

The peer review was requested by Czechia in 2025 to assess and strengthen its disaster risk management and civil protection capabilities. As part of the process, an international team of experts from Sweden, Portugal, Romania, and Poland, together with representatives from DG ECHO and CMCC’s Risk Assessment and Adaptation Strategies (RAAS) Division, carried out an on-site mission in Prague from 2 to 6 March 2026.

The report presents a comprehensive assessment of Czechia’s disaster risk management framework, highlighting key findings from the peer review mission, identifying examples of good practice, and providing tailored recommendations to further enhance national resilience and preparedness for future disasters.

The publication of the Czechia Peer Review Report 2026 marks another important milestone in the ongoing 2025–2027 UCPM Peer Review Programme, following the release of the Kosovo report in April 2026. CMCC also served as facilitator during the previous 2020–2024 UCPM Peer Review Programme cycle, supporting peer review missions in Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Greece, Italy, and Land Brandenburg (Germany).

The peer review process continues to support participating countries through expert exchange, mutual learning, and targeted recommendations, with CMCC providing both technical and logistical support throughout the programme.

The Czechia Peer Review Report 2026 is now available on the UCPM Peer Review Programme | UCP Knowledge Network.
