NBRACER: Nature Based Solutions for Atlantic Regional Climate Resilience

NBRACER is a project funded by HORIZON Europe Research and Innovation actions in support of the implementation of the Adaptation to Climate Change Mission (HORIZON-MISS-2022-CLIMA-01). NBRACER aims at accelerating the transformation towards climate resilient regions that are safe, green, clean and healthy by means of an innovative and practical approach, by working across sectors and disciplines, experimenting and involving local communities.

NEWPATHWAYS: New pathways for equitable climate action in line with the paris agreement and sustainable development

NEWPATHWAYS is a project funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme and the consortium consists of 13 partners, and brings together leading research groups to support climate policymaking within and outside the EU. These research groups are involved in modelling international climate policy, national policies, social science, policy analysis, environmental assessment, and stakeholder engagement.

OSW – Ordering Stabilisation Wedges

CMCC and the Princeton Environmental Institute – Princeton University share a common vision of developing measurement and modeling tools which support improved understanding and prediction of climate change and using such tools to assess the possible impacts of climate change and climate change policy on ecosystems and human society.

PERSEUS – Policy-oriented marine Environmental Research in the Southern European Seas

The overall scientific objectives of PERSEUS are to identify the interacting patterns of natural and human-derived pressures on the Mediterranean and Black Seas (Southern European Seas, SES), assess their impact on marine ecosystems and, using the objectives and principles of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive as a vehicle, to design an effective and innovative research governance framework based on sound scientific knowledge.

RECIPE – Report on Energy and Climate Policies in Europe

The RECIPE project highlights crucial strategic options for Europe’s climate and energy policy at two different scales. Firstly, it informs the relevant stakeholders about the most important barriers to implementation in the European power and heat, industry, transport and agriculture sectors. Secondly, it highlights Europe’s main strategic options in the international arena.

SAFERPLACES – Improved assessment of pluvial, fluvial and coastal flood hazards and risks in European cities as a mean to build safer and resilient communities

SAFERPLACES employs innovative climate, hydrological and hydraulic, topographic and economic modelling techniques to assess pluvial, fluvial and coastal flood hazard and risk in urban environments under current and future climates. The service is designed to support the identification and assessment of flood risk mitigation measures and plans, inform climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction strategies, and help to foster multi-stakeholder agreements and partnership for resilience building. SAFERPLACES builds upon the successfully completed 2017 Climate KIC Pathfinder project ‘PLACES – Pluvial flood hazard and risk assessment and mitigation in European cities’.

SAM-PS – Study on Adaptation Modelling

DG Climate Action awarded this tender to a group of 4 partners lead by CMCC. SAM-PS project focuses in a broad and comprehensive manner on adaptation modelling. Its overall objective is to support better-informed decision-making on adaptation, which is among the priority areas of the EU Strategy on adaptation to climate change.

SEA-LIMITHS: Sea Level Rise Impacts on Italian Hospitality

SEA-LIMITHS is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship Project. The aim of this project is to investigate the impacts and economic consequences of sea level rise on sandy beaches and beach hospitality losses owing to beach erosion and flooding in Italy.

SICAB – Sino Italian capacity building for environmental protection

The project is dedicated to high-level training services in the fields of sustainable development and environmental management in the framework of Italy-China bilateral cooperation. The training offer includes training modules divided into two years and consisting of  modules to be delivered in Italy, and 9 modules to be delivered in China. The project includes not only training activities but also communication, business matching, monitoring and evaluation activities, the use of the Learning Management System platform and the Giornate Italia.

SIDS2 – Climate Change Assessment in Small Pacific Island States

This project aims to enhance the scientific, economic and human adaptive capacity of Pacific Island Countries to climate change and related hazards risks, through the application of participatory approaches, economic analysis of the implication of global climate change policies and measures for Pacific Island Countries.
