ACCREU is a project funded by HORIZON Europe RIA (Research and Innovation Action) investigating, in a fully integrated framework, climate change impacts, mitigation, adaptation and prospects for a sustainable social and economic development in the EU. ACCREU will identify challenges, highlight opportunities and deliver practical solutions to policy making and societal actors at the EU, EU Member State, region and community level to accelerate a just societal transformation towards climate resilience in the short, medium and long term.

ACLIMAS SWIM – Adaptation to Climate Change of the Mediterranean Agricultural System

A project funded within the Sustainable Water Integrated Management (SWIM) to bring a durable improvement in the agricultural water management and a broader economic development in target areas in the context of adaptation to climate change, increasing water scarcity, and desertification risk.

ACQUAOUNT: Adapting to Climate change by QUantifying optimal Allocation of water resOUrces and socio-ecoNomic inTerlinkages

Agriculture is by far the most water demanding sector in the Mediterranean and a sustainable use of water, combined with economic growth, cannot be achieved without improving irrigation efficiency and water productivity. The current heavy depletion of water sources is leading to water scarcity and degradation, deterioration of ecosystem services, conflicts with domestic and industrial uses and, in general, it poses limitations to economic growth. These trends will be exacerbated by CC. The ACQUAOUNT project aims to improve IWRM and sustainable irrigation through the deployment of innovative tools, smart water services and solutions, for public and private use, while contributing to climate resilience.

ACTION – Assessing Climate TransItion OptioNs: policy vs impacts

ACTION is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship aimed at enhancing transparency and comparability of domestic climate policies while offering insights into a fair and just transition.

ADB – Strengthening Planning Capacity for Low Carbon Growth in Developing Asia

This technical assistance is designed to facilitate developing Asia’s transition toward low-carbon development pathway and aims to be a platform for knowledge-sharing, policy dialogue and cooperation.

The technical assistance will provide an economy-wide assessment of cost of climate change impacts in South and South-East Asia.

ADRIADAPT – A Resilience information platform for Adriatic cities and towns

ADRIADAPT aims at promoting local and regional resilience by developing the knowledge base required to identify suitable climate adaptation and planning options, thereby enabling local authorities to respond to policy needs related to climate action in urban and coastal zones of the project area (coastal regions of Italy and Croatia along the Adriatic Sea).

APAT – Climate change impacts in Italy and adaptation policies

The research project aims to assess the socio-economic impacts of climate change and analyse the costs/benefits of adaptation strategies in specific areas at risk in Italy

AtlantECO – Atlantic ECOsystems assessment, forecasting & sustainability

The EU-funded AtlantECO project aims to develop and apply a novel, unifying framework that provides knowledge-based resources for a better understanding and management of the Atlantic Ocean and its ecosystem services. AtlantECO will engage with citizens and actors from the industry and policy sectors in order to stimulate responsible behaviour and Blue Growth. The project focuses on three pillars of research: microbiomes, plastic and the plastisphere, and seascape connectivity. In pursuit of this goal, AtlantECO is bringing together experts and pioneers from Europe, South America and South Africa with the relevant resources, knowledge and experience.

AVOID 2 – The effects of incomplete and delayed participation on the cost of climate policy 2

AVOID 2 is the follow-up of the first AVOID project which took place from 2009 to 2013. The research project, funded by UK government, will provide scientifically-robust, policy-relevant answers to questions directly related to UNFCCC.

C3-Alps – Capitalizing Climate Change Knowledge for Adaptation in the Alpine Space

C3-Alps is a transnational capitalisation project co-funded by the Alpine Space programme that seeks to synthesize, transfer, and implement in policy and practice the best available adaptation to climate change knowledge in the Alps.

CALDAM-ENV Link – Calibration of projected climate change damages in ENV-Linkages

The purpose of this tender is to assist the OECD in implementing the various components of climate change damages in the ENV-Linkages model, by sharing their expertise with calibrating damages in their own models, ICES and WITCH.

CASCADES – CAScading Climate risks: towards ADaptive and resilient European Societies

CASCADES project strives to understand the conditions under which climate risks propagate beyond their geographical and temporal location in ways that may affect European stability and cohesion. It does so via a broad 360° risk assessment and deeper thematic analyses of trade, value chain, financial and political connections between Europe and the rest of the world.

CD-LINKS – Linking Climate and Development Policies – Leveraging International Networks and Knowledge Sharing

CD-LINKS project aims at exploring the complex interplay between climate action and development while simultaneously taking both global and national perspectives. It will fill this critical knowledge gap and provide much-needed information for designing complementary climate-development policies.

CIFTRESS – Climatic Impact on Food Trade RESilience and Security

CIFTRESS project examines the joint climate, agro-environmental, and economic induced changes to the trade network topologies of five staple foods up to the year 2050 in the European and Mediterranean region.

CircoMod: Circular Economy Modelling for Climate Change Mitigation

CircoMod is a project funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe Framework Programme and carried out by a consortium of 12 European organizations. The project aims at developing a new generation of advanced models and scenarios that will assess how CE can reduce future GHGs and material use. The project brings together a unique consortium of leading research teams from different disciplines, including industrial ecology and material flow modelling, process-oriented integrated assessment modelling, and macro-economic modelling. It aims for a breakthrough in integrating CE and GHG mitigation assessments by developing an analytical framework that maps circular economy strategies to existing influential climate scenarios; by providing robust and timely CE data in an open repository; and, by improving the representation of the CE in leading models used by European and global institutions, while strengthening links between the models. These key scientific breakthroughs enable robust scientific assessments in collaboration with stakeholders across policy and industry.

CLARA – Climate forecast enabled knowledge services

The aim of CLARA innovation action is to develop a set of leading-edge climate services building upon the newly developed Copernicus Climate Change Services – near-term forecasts and sectorial information systems (SIS) – and sustain their marketability and value.

CLIM-RUN – Local Climate Informations to Respond to Users Needs

The project aims at developing a protocol for applying new methodologies and improved modeling and downscaling tools for the provision of adequate climate information at regional to local scale that is relevant to and usable by different sectors of society.

CLIMAFRICA – Climate change predictions in Sub-Saharan Africa: impacts and adaptations

ClimAfrica aims to develop improved climate predictions on seasonal to decadal scale in Sub-Saharan Africa and assess the climate impacts on water resources and agriculture, while evaluating vulnerabilities and suggesting relevant adaptation strategies.

CLIMALPTOUR – Climate Change and its Impact on Tourism in the Alpine Space

The project aims at dealing with the internationally recognized issue of the effects of climate change on alpine tourism, with reference to winter tourism and winter sports in some areas of the Alps and to all-season tourism in other areas.

CLIMWATADAPT – Climate Adaptation – Modelling water scenarios and sectoral impacts

The project aims at assessing both vulnerability to climate change impacts and adaptation measures with a specific focus on water, providing the basis for the identfication of adaptation measures to be either promoted or prevented at EU level.

COACCH – CO-designing the Assessment of Climate CHange costs

COACCH (CO-designing the Assessment of Climate CHange costs) is a project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and carried out by a consortium of 14 European organisations. COACCH will develop an innovative science-practice and integrated approach to co-design and co-deliver an improved downscaled assessment of the risks and costs of climate change in Europe, working with end users from research, business, investment, and policy making communities throughout the project.
